      The Basic Idea

The members of the website submit stories which join the Upcoming Queue. Other members can visit the source of the story, and vote if they like it, and if the story gets enough votes, the story hits the Published Articles queue.

      How to Join

Joining is free and easy. All you need to do is visit the register link at the top of the webpage, above the header, or use the register box on the sidebar. Simply enter a username, an email address, and a password, and you are in. You can now see a number of new links at the top of the website, such as Profile and Inbox. Spidge.com has an internal mailing system and you can use this to send messages to other spidge members. Your profile can be modified to upload your own avatar, add some email or popular messaging services you subscribe to, and will also give you a breakdown of all the stories you have submitted, voted, or even commented on.

From the profile page you can also find the spidge internet browser tool, which is a shortcut you place in your browsers favourites and allows you to submit a story quickly and easily.

      How to Submit a Story

Submitting a story is a three step process. First all you need to do is click the submit a new story link and fill in the url (internet address) of the story, and click continue. (You can skip this step with the spidge tool)

Step 2 is where you add a few details and a summary of the story. The story needs a title, some tags (which are just a few words to categorise the story), a description, a category and if you want to upload an image you can. You can also link to videos from places like youtube and googlevideo by using the respective video codes in between the HTML tags as displayed above the description boxes

Step 3 is easy. Just preview your new story and click the submit button. The story then gets added to the upcoming queue. How to Vote and comment

You can keep up with the new enties on Spidge by subscribing to the upcoming queue and the published articles queue, using some RSS reader like google reader or bloglines, or even outlook in some later versions. When you see a story in the queues that you like, you can vote, simply by clicking the vote button. If an article in the upcoming queue gets enough votes, then it appears in the published queue. Commenting is easy too. Just click on the discuss link at the bottom of a story and you can read other members comments and comment yourself.
